Ziteng? Matthew?

Many people ask me why do they still call me Ziteng since i have a christian name, matthew? well, heres why..

when i was born, my dad somehow or rather forgotten to include Matthew in my birth cert, so it was just Lim Ziteng.. but i guess since all my sisters have christian names so my mum wanted me to have one too.

so when i was in pri 3, my mum brought me to the lawyer, who's shang jun's father, to add the name Matthew.. and some adjustment needed to be done.. like in pri school, when my form teacher started calling me matthew.. the whole class (being pri 3s will go)," who is matthew? new student in class ah, how come i don't see him?" OR sometimes when the teacher calls Matthew.. i won't even respond! so it took some time to get used to it.

but since people in church know me as Ziteng since i was young, i'm pretty much happy they are still calling me Ziteng till now except for one or 2 who enjoy calling me matthew. zzzzz. and also my family calls me Ziteng too, THANK GOD!

so its left with school.. since the first group of people who called me Matthew were from school.. i just decided that ONLY people in the school i am attending will call me Matthew, the rest of them shall call me by my chinese name cos thats the way i like it!

which brings us back to today.. as you can see, if you are my family member, or something in church or CF, you'll know me as Ziteng. but if you're in Barker or NYP.. you'll know me as Matthew.

okay so with that said, no one needs to ask anymore k.. and you SHALL call me Ziteng if you are from church or family or CF or Matthew if you're from ACS or NYP.

Secret Millionaire

every friday, somehow or rather, when i switch on the TV around 9pm, i'm usually on the BBC knowledge channel . well, its usually on that channel because before that, i'll be watching Top Gear which is from BBC. but thats not the point, for a couple of weeks now i've been watching this series of episodes called Secret Millionaires.

well, Secret Millionaires is basically a show where on each episode, a Millionaire is taken out from his confortable home, multiple credit cards, luxury cars and many other stuff and live in a city in the USA for 1 week where people are living in poverty and he/she is supposed to help go around looking for people & organisations to help people out. and at the end of that week, he will write a cheque of X amount of dollars to bless the people or organisation.

and so last night's episode was about this Millionaire staying in Las Vegas and he was tasked to live in a certain part of the USA for 6 days and he had to help various people and organisations and at the end of it, bless them with a cheque.

to cut the long story shot, he met various individuals who shared with him about how hard is it to make ends meet in the city and even caring for their children. he volunteered in 2 organisations which gave young students a place to study and learn in a healthy enviornment. the last place he volunteered at was this group of people who clear the rubbish that people dump around the city. and basically the whole episodes shows a little glimps of how tough life it.

so at the end of his 6 days, when it was time for him to leave, he went back to the 3 different groups of people. he gave a cheque of $10 000 to a mother and son to help finance in their centre's facilities and also to provide food for the students. he then gave a cheque of $20 000 to the organisation that help clear the dumpsters. but now only that, he also bought equipment which will help the volunteers in clearing the rubbish easier.. like brooms, a lawn mower, and many more, which honestly i thought was a much practical way of giving back to them.

and the last organisation was for a basketball club. this coach, who is already in his late 50s or early 60s, wants to retire already but can't bare to leave the students who are learning basketball. and bear in mind that these students come from broken families, their parent(s) don't have enough money to give them and stuff.. so the millionaire gave the organisation a cheque of $75 000 and then to that coach $25 000.

well i guess with this short summary of whats going on. you might think, well, this millionaire is only here to give money and then after 6 days go back to his comfy home what. but i think we should also consider that, its because of that this millionaire has done, has opened doors for the various people he has blessed. through that generous amount of money they were able to afford more children in to their centres to teach and guide them and not let them wonder off in the streets which might turn them into gangsters and what not. and through this amount and resources they can clear the rubbish with more convenience. and through this amount, people can go to high school, followed by college and then even get a decent job there after.

the world we live in is messed up.. we need to have a heart of compassion.

its been a while since i last blogged. so i shall.

some of you might know.. i pass my time once in a while playing Chinese Chess online. well, call me a geek or whatever, but at least i'm not doing worthless things like drugs or gambling or pick pocketing.

k so maybe i should explain how this online game works. the rules of chinese chess apply, each player can play with the same player for only 2 games max, the winner of each round can win between 12 points to 20 points. and each player can only play with a player who is at least 100 points lesser or more than him. so for example, if i have 1450 points, i can play with someone as low as 1350 or as high as 1540 points.

so just awhile ago i was playing a game with this fella. IIRC he probably had 1410 points and i had about 1430 points. so we started playing.. and since his total number of points is lower than mine, i was more or less certain that i would probably win him, but i could lose the game as well, so i was pretty careful. but well, i won him eventually( i'm guessing its a him and you'll know why further down) and it was quite an easy win since he either wasn't paying attention, or he just wasn't ... paying attention. ANYWAY, i really don't like such players cos i feel they're not playing a fair game so after the first round i decided to leave the table and look for someone else to play.

and soon after, he opened up a chatbox with me and called me a dog.. and i thought to myself, well, can't admit defeat la but its okay i'll just ignore him.. and that probably made him even more annoyed and then he typed," your mother is dog "then i'm like. wow what does this gotta do with my mother? so i shall show you how ridiculous he is in his convo.

zit: why?
S: dog
zit: why?
S: because y win and y get out
S: Hate
zit:?
zit: what does that have to do with my mother? please learn some manners, thanks.
zit: i can teach you how to have proper manners.
zit: firstly, don't be rude.

zit: its okay, i forgive you

and that was that, after i typed i forgive you, he stopped. so firstly, judging from what he says, i'm guessing he's a dude (without any manners at all). and for one, its certainly not a crime getting myself out of the table after 1 game just because i won.i feel sad for such people now, they hide themselves infront of a computer and do stupid stuff which does no good to them at all.

and i'm glad i said "i forgive you" because i felt much more sane then after he insulted my mother. and also, i certainly hope that when he see's that someone forgives him for the stupid and immature things he has done, he will try to learn his lesson.

i was just thinking.. i think i know why nowadays people aren't so personal anymore. you read in the bible where people weep because they'll be leaving each other for a really really long time.

but in like present time we're like.."oh you're leaving ah? okay bye." and then it just stays like that because we know for a fact that even though they're apart from each other, technology allows them to still communicate. but back then, i've no idea how they comminucate.. probably they tied a ring with a note attached to a bird's legs and it'll fly back and forth? who knows? might be true after all :)

Lately, i feel like i'm hiding myself from the world..

its like, friends ask me out and i say i'm not free. but in actual fact, i just stay at home i give myself excuses like "oh i want to save money and all " well, yea thats true, but after a while, its just lame.

in my family, my little cousins talk to me on facebook i just close the window and ignore them and all.

then in church, people come talk to me, i talk 2 or 3 sentences and i tell them i gotta rush off somewhere but in actual fact, i'm just lazing around one corner.

something is terribly wrong with me, but i don't know..

Interesting Dream!

i would say i had a really really interesting and fun dream last night.. probably thats why i woke up at 9am today instead of my usual 8am wake up time. at the end of the post i will explain why i had this dream.. so my dream started off with me driving a Honda City which was Manual Transmission. i was definetly in melbourne and monica was sitting next to me in the passanger seat giving me directions. i remember driving down this really steep hill and this driver in front of me was driving so slowly i was so ready to honk him! haha & then! the next i remember was i was heading to the airport, while driving up a slope to the departure hall, i saw 3 people walking up. and i was wondering to myself," why on earth are people walking up this slope when they can take a lift to the departure hall. so when the few of them turned around i remember seeing hannah and chrysan. k i can't really remember what happened after that but now i was still in a Honda City and now Tin tin was in the car! haha ikr so weird.. and attached to the car was a Caravan! and like we were driving around this huge ass field trying to find a suitable place to park the car & caravan and i remember telling tin tin that we must find a place which is near the toilet and place to eat! so while driving, i remember looking at different caravans and how the people have pimped their caravans up and stuff. OKAY THEN I WOKE UP! BUT now that i think of it all, i can slowly trace back why i had all the images in my dream. - starting off with my dream while driving a MT honda city, during the time i learnt driving, almost on all my lessons, i drove a white honda city.. - with regards to driving in melbourne. well, i was in melbourne 2 weeks back and it was such a hilly place which so many many slopes and on some days, i sat in the front passanger seat while monica drove around. i guess i must have dreamt of myself taking the wheel since i really really wanted to drive in melbourne but didn't get the chance to. - then we move to the airport, hmm i've no idea why i drove to the airport, but it certainly didn't seem like changi airport. - but i know why i saw hannah and chrysan. cos a few months back on one saturday evening, i drove my family to How Sun drive there to eat dinner before going to my grandparent's place and for me to drive there, i need to pass by bartley church and drive up a hill before reaching there. and so happen that day just as i was driving up, i remember seeing hannah, chrysan and i think jiamin walking up that hill. so far everything sound logical right? hmm - okay THEN right, in all honestly, i've no idea how did tin tin come into my dream? cos he's so busy with school i don't even meet up with him so often with him. so i found that ABIT strange. ABIT only. - then its the caravans right? haha that ones coolio. cos a few days back i was watching top gear and there was this challenge where james, jeremy and richard had to drive a caravan a few hundred miles to this site where people park their caravans and relax there, and in that episode, James May had problems trying to park his car with the caravan behind it. hahaha - okay i think i'm getting better in remembering my dreams. someone give me a high 5 pls. thanks :)

The end of it all

couple of hours back, the world recieved news that some parts of thailand had a massive earthquake which could have kill thousands of people.

i was just thinking, if my sentences don't flow please pardon me, i'm just typing whatever i'm thinking, so yea..

upon hearing that, i just asked myself, just when would Jesus come again. and i'm for sure most of you christians out there would ask the same question whenever you hear over the news some country has an earthquake, tsunami or drought or cyclone..

and then i thought of japan.. probably the one location in the world that has the most and deadly earthquakes and tsunami. but in the midst of all that, only 1% of its population of close to 130 million people are christians. i'm just questioning myself why would God allow Japan to face with all this natural disasters and its number of christians so little.. i mean, then who do the 99% of non christians depend on?

i'm really glad i got the chance to visit Japan last year. almost exactly 1 year before the most recent earthquakes in japan.. cos over there, we were educated on the movements the missionaries are taking to spread the word across the nation, and i'm glad though the numbers are still small, its increasing.

its just at this moment right now my heart really goes out to Japan.

In the stars i see Your majesty displayed

alright i really need to blog this.

i've never really understood how could looking at stars could be such a beautiful thing. i mean, in singapore, whenever i looked up in the stars, i'll just see clouds and more clouds and maybe a few stars?

but while in Melbourne, Australia..
i remember one night between 9-10pm after eating dinner at monica's place either aunty yen meng or monica told gerald and i to bring the trash out at the drive way. like idiots, we walked out in the cold 14-15 degree temperature in nothing more than slippers, tshirts and short and walked out to the bin to throw the rubbish away.. and just as we threw it away i looked up in the sky, and WOW, it was so so beautiful. you could really see each individual star, be it the small ones or the big ones. if you were standing right next to me then, you would totally be speechless

and you know, theres a song written by Reuben Morgan in the 'A Beautiful Exchange' which says 'in the stars i see Your majesty displayed' & in that moment when i looked up in the sky, man i just could not believe what was above me and i had felt such peace and comfort at that moment.

if only it was possible to take a photo of the beautiful stars..

after 2 years of closely 'studying' the Hillsong team and their songs, i always marvel at how they sing the songs in the Live/United Albums that can cater to the all the singers vocal range. i was always puzzled how can a 2 people of completely different vocal range sing the same song and it sounds nice...

well, lets leave the sound equipment the musicians use out of this post for now, because with the amount of equipment they use just for an Album, its insanely huge.

but lets go back to the vocals. so yes, i marvel at how the writer and musicians craft their songs in such a way that a Bass singer and a Tenor can sing the song. but after countless time of listening over and over again, i got the answer and it was pretty obvious from the start if i had paid a little more attention.

well you see, it basically depends on what key the song is being played. lets start with the male vocals. i noticed that usually the key of the songs they sing are in C. well, for a high tenor, that shouldn't be a difficult key to reach. and for a low bass singer, thats easily able to reach when the singer sings one octave lower. as such, when you put a bass singer and high tenor together, they can sing the same song on the same key. i realised this middle of this year when Hillsong Live released their first video from the 'A Beautiful Exchange ' video where Jad Gilles, my favouritest singer, sang the song Forever Reign. after a few days while browsing through youtube, i found another vid of the song, Forever Reign, being sung by David Ware. and i felt it strange because Jad is a (EXTREMELY) high tenor and david is a bass singer and they were singing in the same key!

another song which made me realise was You Hold Me Now, also sung by Jad on the Faith+Hope+Love Live Album. on the album, Jad sang the song in C.. however, during the Hillsong Conference 2009/2010, Reuben Morgan, a bass singer sang it in C too. but its amazing how the Hillsong craft their songs such a way that their music suits different singers.

for the female lead singers like Darlene, Brooke, Annie Garret and Jill, they tend to sing in the keys of G, A & B.. singing in C would be too high & too low for them. for one thing, even singing in A would be too high.

[okay side note, i always had the impression that females have a higher vocal range than males, i was terribly wrong. good thing someone pointed that out to me]

right so anyway, i guess this can be a learning point for you and your band if you have one. if you have one bass singer and one tenor who are in the same band, craft your songs in a way that both of them are able to sing. and even better thing is to compose your own songs too. but i feel when you compose your songs, you should keep in mind who do you think is capable of singing the song and try to arrange your song within the means of the singer's vocal range.

oh & to end, Hillsong is releasing a new series of Live Albums called Hillsong Chapel. & they're releasing a new Album 'Yahweh' this coming tuesday, 26th Oct. the aim of this CD is to help church worship teams or bands to sing or play the song not being so up-beat and rah-rah, they have arrange their songs to have a more acoustic feel to it. i've heard the preview of the songs, you should get one copy when its released :)

i haven't been blogging, evidently. but i just felt like blogging this morning.

though i may be having my semesteral holidays now and all, i just feel a little troubled about things thats going on around me. i guess there might be some issues about me as well, but oh well.

i think we all need to love one another. think about it, i read this article from Hillsong Collected, its a blog which caters for different ministries in a church. one of the blogger, carl lentz, said," if we were to be nice or show love to a person everyday for the next 40 years, we would have touched at least 20 000 people in our lives for just that period. & i thought to myself, man that is awesome, but is it that easy?

maybe i should start small, like 50 people a year? sounds reasonable? i think for a person like me.. 50 people is pretty decent already. heh.

& btw, i named this week Sigma Week :D

OKAY, i haven't been posting. maybe i should start again yea? its just that, facebook and twitter feeds are as though i'm blogging already!

life has been fine i guess. i lead in Youth Sunday in church last week. i thought it went fine but i had church mates coming to me and the other band members saying that we did a really good job. well, yea so we did. but i believe God was in the midst of us then. and till this day, i'm still really proud of my team of musicians and singers.

& then theres the Children's Camp coming up for FMC. i'm kinda getting real excited for that. though dealing with Kids ain't my cup of tea, i believe i can still help contributing in other ways.. thats why i'm in charge of logistics!

well okay thats a portion of my life you didn't know :)

i know i've been back. i agree man, with twitter and facebook, you don't really need to blog anymore.

but oh my goodness, while driving back home just now, i didn't know i ran over a dead bird! i felt a slight bump at the back wheel but i thought it was a stone or something till my sis told me," eh teng, you ran over a bird!" i was like.. uh ohhhhhh :S

ah well, technically when i ran over it it was already dead... so i didn't cause its death, but maybe to a few more broken bones.

ah yes, everyone is going crazy about the WC now. well, for one thing, i'm not into it. i'm more into TENNIS! Rolland Garros ended 2-3 weeks back at paris, and not the attention is on Wimbledon in london. i so need to be present at one of those matches one day.

but first! i'm planning for a trip to Sydney & Melbourne soon.. hopefully i'll have the money to do so. i need a job!

i scratched the car!

before i say anything.. i must say that i really feel bad for scratching my dad's car while driving home on sunday :(

but before that..
i spent the weekend at Pulai Springs with some awesome people to babysit some kids. because there was a marriage conference going on so some youths were called to take care of the parent's kids. so crystal, belly, van and i took care of the kids. well, crys did most of the work, we just made sure the kids listened to crystal.

i guess the trip was a good time to relax. there wasn't internet connection.. i guess i was happy with no internet cos i didn't really wanna stay connected with anyone in singapore other than my family.

so i spent the free time on saturday after swimming with daniel and deborah, really cool energetic pair of siblings.. daniel is from Barker so chatting with him about school is kinda amusing. seeing how present barker students talk about their teachers is pretty amusing. and when i think about daniel says.. it totally sounded like what i'll say if i were like him. haha

and oh yes, BODY MASSAGE. since the hotel provided the service for RM50, most of us decided to go for the massage.. it was AWESOME!!! sadly it was only for 30mins.. the 1 hr long massage would have been awesome!

and the nights were awesome. sharing a suite with people who can play mahjong WITH a mahjong set is damn cool. we literally played till we dropped dead on the mahjong table. well, my bed was just next to the table so it was pretty comfy.

and yes, on sunday my parents decided to drive into JB to pick me home.. and after lunch i took over the car to drive back to singapore.. we took the woodlands checkpoint back. ARGHHH at the malaysia customs i scratched the left mirror against the wall! :( well, its not a huge scratch but still.. heart pain.

i've no school today cos its graduation week. so i've been jumping around on facebook.

and this particular person's facebook info was rather amusing.
i clicked on the Info of the person and i read through and when i came across on what his interests are.. i had a good laugh when i saw..

okay, well, its not really funny, just damn amusing. can't people make up their minds these days.. or do they wanna make use of the trail & test method.

on another note.
my cousin, Leah, gave me her 5 year old film camera just 2 days back! well, the batts are dead & there is no film. so probably i'll go get those settled before heading to NP.. with the convenience of the car :)

so papa and i celebrated out 54th and 19th birthday respectively today.. yes for those who don't know. papa and i share the same birthday. apparently what i heard was that i was supposed to be due on the 16th of may, but nooooo, i popped out a little earlier!

anyway right, i wanna thanks alot of people but i think too many already.
- wanna thank my family for entertaining all my nonsence these few years.
- wanna thank my CF mates for the mini birthday celebration yesterday

i want to learn the guitar

i'm someone who honestly hates anything which has to do with sitting infront of a book holding a pen and a piece of paper, writing notes and studying for random modules and course work. i just find to purpose and excitement in doing that, but ah well, who does? but i know of some people who enjoy studying.. -.-

but i love doing technical stuff.. not hard labour work, but technical stuff.. like.. being a sound crew, learning an instrument.. besides piano. talking about pianos, i just can't seem to master the piano which kinda sucks especially when you do more and more of worship leading, at some point you'll just needa change keys and stuff. gosh sometimes it gets annoying..

okay well whatever, basically, I WANT TO LEARN TO PLAY THE GUITAR. my mum always tells the family," in all the 19 years, Ziteng has never said he wanted to learn anything except to learn to drive" well, yea mummy is right back then.. BUT NOW, i wanna learn something else, i wanna learn the guitar.

like take a look at most bands and singers, Paul Beloche plays the guitar on stage, Don moen plays his zai grand piano on stage + his violin, Planetshakers lead singer plays the guitar. United's brooke, Joel, Jad and even Marty plays a guitar on stage. well, i know playing the guitar and singing on stage isn't meant for you to show off or any sort but to contribute to the music in the concert or performance or worship.. and i wanna be that person who contributes. we are called to being God's hands and feet and running this race for the least of these. i'm gonna learn it myself, like how i learnt the drums.

i blame my sister for this! humph. haha

i spent 2 hours walking around vivo yesterday cos i needed to wait for her to pick me. so while walking around, i bought a new wallet from pierre cadin & 2 adidas sport shorts from Adidas.. but thats not the point.

so i walked into the Canon Showroom just opposite golden village.. i got my hands on a 5DII with a mounted 24-105.. wow, it was the best shooting experience ever!

so lets see, if i were to get a FF camera, i'll needa change my lenses.. prob back to a tamron 28-75 f/2.8 or a sigma 24-70 f/2.8 HSM & a 50mm f/1.4

I SO NEED FULL FRAME PLSSSSSSS

i heart dogs

i think i'm starting to have a really strong interest for animals. my previous post mentions about how i detest animal abuse and stuff like that..

this morning, i swtiched on the TV to channel 5 and Oprah was so happen showing then, and just nice, her show was on animal! about how humans and animals share their bonds with their pets.

there was this couple who lived in the countryside and one day, they found this baby hippo right infront of their home, so they decided to adopt the little hippo and currently, after 9 years, the hippo has been and still is with the family. not sure whether you've watched it, but the scene actually shows a 1 tonne hippo walking around the owners house. so cuteeee!

another case was this man who went fishing one day and saw a baby bear hurt, so he decided to keep the bear where he can feed it and keep it warm. and right now, the bear is almost one and a half times his owner's height and weighing close to a tonne! i think such animal/human relationships are so fantastic.

but if i start off with any pet, i want a dog.

since i've been lazing around at home usually in the morning, i'll switch on the TV to animal planet and watch this documentary about an Animal Shelter where they roam around looking for stray animals or injured ones.

my heart went out for this particular dog where the owner had left her in their home backyard without food, water and shelter for one whole week with temperatures over 30-40 degrees. i mean, this is obviously abusing your animal. you enjoy a time of your life for a week and there you have a starving animal who has none to enjoy.

these owners ought to be punished and fined heavily by the authorities.

after watching these few episodes, something kinda told i'll seriously wanna own a pet, probably a dog next time. it may be one whole lifetime of feeding or clearing its poop. it'll be rewarding i'll bet.

so i drove my daddy's car for the first time today. cos i needed some practice to park the huge ass car.. literally.. we drove into an industrial estate in TPY where he told me to park here and there. well, i could master everything.. except parking from my right.. wah lao damn hard pls.

but its good that my dad allowed me to drive to great world city to pick my sis. but after that, my sis took over the car. sianzxzxzx. haha

anyway, i think i'll start posting my japan pics here daily..

hello once again my about-to-die blog. i haven't really been updating because i've really been dead tired after work these days. so fyi, i spent the last 2 weeks in Welon to work for my uncle. it was probably one of the most tiring jobs i have ever taken on.. but ah well, it was 2 weeks, money was good, and i got to know my uncle, who was my boss, a little better.

right so anyway, i've been recently checking up on some of my wanna-get stuff. crumpler is top on my list. i found out that amazon sells kinda affordable crumpler bagpacks, so i'm gonna see any good deals then grab them! next is.. iphone! apparently epicentre are selling iphones without plans currently. if it is affordable.. i'm thinking of getting a 8GB one.

oh AND. my driving test is tmr! OMG

i'll be away from singapore from the 4th to the 17th of march. feel kinda weird that just 2 months back i flew to HK and 2 months later, i'm heading somewhere else. never done this before, so it feels a little strange.

i'll be spending the 4-7th march in a study trip around Osaka. the 8th-12th attending a National Conference in Kyoto & the 13th in 17th in Tokyo for some R&R.

we're flying Japan Airlines on all our 3 flights. so yea.. see ya soon!

sighh if only i know online check in can be done 72 hours before flight.. i would have checked-in yesterday!

well, yea i've done the online check in already. kinda sad that i didn't managed to get the seats that i wanted. but still, we've our seats! but its like row 53 which is quite far back of the plane. but the seats do seem quite spacious. why do i say that? well, for a normal Boeing 777 plane. the seat alinement in a row is a 3-4-3 configuration. but for JAL, its a 2-4-2 and a 3-3-3 configuration. so i am highly suspecting that our seats will be wider than conventional seats on various planes.. WHICH IS A GOOD THING!

i know of a fellow clubsnapper, Charles Leong. i mentioned about him about a year ago that i bought 2 memory cards for my camera to him.

he has an illness by which his muscles start to degenerate rapidly, a illness somewhat similar to what Steven Hawkings has. as such, for the past few years, he has been on a wheel chair because he legs aren't strong enough to hold on to his weight.

i had his facebook contact since 2008 of as recent as last year june i noticed i didn't see him posting anything on facebook & any threads on clubsnap. and you know, if was only yesterday, that i came to realise that he has gone home to the Lord. in fact, he passed away on Nov 26th 2009. i felt so miserable last night..

the thought of losing someone you know is already so painful, what more a love one?

anyway, moving along, Yvonne really made my day today. she's probably one of the coolest ever staff workers at FES! i went to FES today to hand her a letter(consent form) for the Japan trip and she told me," eh ziteng, why you come so early? japan trip still 1 month away leh." haha! i looked at her and went," err, 1 month? 9 days left!" hahaha and then she realised oh yes, 9 days left! haha. then she hurridly typed out a letter to Aunty Siew Kheng.
oh man, she really made my day. Math paper made me damn mad already, seeing the silly side of yvonne just took the whole lot of math crap aside.

well, yes! 9 days to japan.

you know, in March 2008, i would have never thought i could go England for Holiday in March 2009. & last year in March 2009, i would have never expected to go for a mission trip to japan in March 2010. yea its kinda amazing isn't it?

okay i can't think anymore.

CNY has been pretty good this year. although it was quite amusing that CNY first day was the earliest day my family has ever woken up this year! (the previous time we woke up even earlier was when we flew to HK)

but this CNY i did some new things.

i drank slighlty more this year. well, i only drink with my parents around so i guess i'm in a controlled environment. but yea, from beer to wine then back to beer. haha

& i also sat in my uncle's new BMW M3. OMG do you know how awesome it is? i can't tell you how fast he went but it was certainly an awesome ride. AND it is such a roomy car considering its a 2 door car. BMW FTW!

& i talked more to my older cousins this year. when i say older, i don't mean like 2 or 3 years older than me kinda thing. its like.. 20-30 years older than me kinda thing. you see, my immediate family is the more junior family in this generation, so with that said, most of my cousins are all much older than me.

ahh well, i wonder what next year's CNY would be like.

now is back to studying. tsk

you know everytime papa drives through Tiong Bahru, he would never fail to mention his child hood memories from a little boy till his 20's living there.

like the other day, on thursdays.. because we were late for badminton, we decided to have dinner after badminton. so since AA is near Tiong Bahru, we decided to head there for dinner since most stalls with the nice food usually are open till pretty late.

so yea, once we parked the van, my dad started his recollection of his first 20+ years. its kinda cool actually.

ah well, i wonder 20 years down the road, what would i be telling my child about my early years as a kid then young adult. if i had a car, i would drive him to the hill of Daisy Road and show him," i stayed here."

i went to funan with my cousin today to help her get a camera cos she'll be leaving for sydney for the next few years. well, i sorta short listed a few shops to consider.

first we stepped into Song Brothers and we took a look at the fujifilm A220 & J27 which was at a promotional price currently. can't really remember the prices but it was slightly more than what Challenger was selling. so yea, then we went up to John 3:16.. my FAVOURITE-est shop in the whole of funan (besides the apple store. hehe).. Sam Gan quoted us $195 for the canon powershot A490 which was just in stores yesterday. well, but since canon doesn't provide international warranty Sixuan wasn't really keen on getting the Canon.

so we walked down to Alan Photo. okay i officially hate Alan Photo. service is bad, Staff look very unfriendly, salesdude doesn't even know what he's talking about. so we discussed and to cut the long story short, we decided that John 3:16 is a way better place to get the camera from..

so we went back up to John 3:16.. Sam was so happen available at the moment so he sold Xuan the camera for $205 and i bought a Hoya 77mm UV filter for my 10-22 lens.

well people, when ever you go funan and you are in doubt of what to buy, just zoom to John 3:16 straight away. you can never go wrong with that :)

alright cooooool :) Roger Federer get his 4th australian open championship title this year! awesome awesome.

i read in an article posted from the Australian Open site. it talked about various top tennis players in the world on what their "secret weapon" is when they're playing a match. so they mentioned how Roddick has his power serves which can go 200km/h and above, or about Nadal's fast reflexes and top spins and blah blah blah. when they reached to Federer's turn.. the writer could not pin point any physical strengths on federer.. but he said that federer's secret weapon is actually his mind..

federer is such an experienced player that he can swiftly hit killer shots around the court. and yea when i think about it. that is very true. i mean, Fed doesn't really serve fast serves (a max of 210km/h) like andy roddick or moves as fast as nadal, but he certainly can execute a shot killer shot from almost at any point in the court. and this is kinda cool. so far i haven't came across a tennis player who could be so cool and calm during a game even though he is losing 2 sets down and still manages to win after a 5 set match.

do you know what is cool about little india? stuff is sold cheap. well, thats provided you know where to get the nice & cheap stuff. after worship practice today i was walking to the mrt station, when i walked passed 7-11, they were shouting out loud "Drink for sale! 1 for $1!" so being a typical singaporean with the mentality of "free must take, cheap must buy, expensive must bargain.." i decided to look around to see whats there. oooo its like one whole containter filled with drinks.. and like 7-11 usually sell those sort of drinks for over 2 dollars. so being me, i bought one and happily drank it down. hehe

part of our Gcube training. Yvonne arranged for both teams to spend an afternoon with a group of youths who have hearing disabilities.

well, it was a challenge but i guess i brought home some learning points. wearing ear plugs for that few hours placed me in a position of a while whats going through their body when they can't hear as well as we do. i struggled... half the time i was trying to figure out," whats that fella explaining???"

but ah wells, its been a good day. now i need my rest and do BS!

haha i find "Hello World" damn amusing. i still remember when poly started last year.. i was still in ECCE then, then we had C# programming and the first assignment we were supposed to do was to create a textbox with the text inside "Hello World!" hahaha so amusing right, i mean, who in on earth does that?

THEN, this term, we did C++ programming, and the first assignment was to type a flowchart which shows "HELLO WORLD". my oh my, what is NYP turning into? when i think of Hello World, i think of Hello Kitty wearing some pink dress waving at me. OH MAN, that is just so so wrong!

AND, my home toilet is fixed. LIKE FINALLY! its still a little dusty but after a few rounds of rinse, it should be pretty clean. i can't wait to bathe in there! HAHA. but like my sis says, i shouldn't be complaining just because one toilet is "out of order" as we have have another 3 more. hmm

TOILET BO LIAO

14th jan starts the begining of a little renovation at home. technically its supposed to be a minor renovation since its only a toilet. BUT its all the way upstairs so from the house door till the toilet which is right next to my room, the floor is all laid with paper pasted to the floor. oh man its gonna be like that for the next 7 days. i'm gonna go on bed with not so clean feet.

well, so yea my house is under going renovation for the toilet. it all started when the ceiling in my sis' room started leaking. so my parents though a more affordable and less messy way is to paint the leaking part with some waterproof paint. but still, the leaking decided to come back. so my parents decided to renovate the toilet. meaning, the tiles, and the shower area is hacked up (not too sure about the toilet bowl) wahh actually it does look coool to see. good thing i wasn't at home in the morning. the drilling would have been far too massive and noisy!

while cycling today, i realised that serangoon gardens by far has only one 7-11.

yes i decided to lose 'some' weight and go for a ride on my white elephant. i haven't cycled it since before HK trip so thats about 3 or 4 weeks ago. and since bishan park is closed for upgrading (sigh) i decided to explore a little more of serangoon gardens today.

while cycling, i was thinking to myself, actually serangoon gardens is a really good place to stay. i mean, food is almost at every corner of it. there is not much transportation issues if you stay near the bus stop (if not, you'll be doing alot of walking) and its quite a pleasant neighbourhood.

well whatever the case is, i need to start working out more!

i've recently came to a conclusion that i'm someone who loves shoes and bags. infact i love them so much i've quite alot of them.

so lets see. i have 1 pair of slippers, 1 pair of nike sneakers(black), 1 pair of nike dunks(brown), 2 pairs of addidas sport shoes (1 for badminton, 1 for normal use), 1 hush puppy loafers.

then bags. i have 2 Deuter bags(they are darn durable i tell you), 1 crumpler messanger bag(belongs to sis), 1 crumpler 7 million dollar home(camera bag), 1 lowepro rover AW II(camera backpack, 1 nike laptop sleeve, 1 nike backpack & 1 nike Duffal bag (which was bought yesterday!)

k maybe i have a little too many shoes and bags. but they all do serve me as and when i need them. you see..

-i use my slippers for normal walk arounds, very rarely do i wear them to school unless i feel like it.
-my back nike sneakers are for days when i have lab lessons, i dunno why but i just like wearing that shoe on lab lessons
-my nike dunks was bought by my sis but i paid a certain percentage of it. yea i use it for daily wear and its comfortable too(if i walk short distances)
-my older addidas pair which just turned 2 years old was actually my sch shoes for sec5 but because its so good i'm still wearing them and i use it for badminton. and my newer one is bought cos my older one is started to tear apart, and its really comfortable. Dev can testify to that cos he tried on my shoes today. haha
-and my loafers are also worn as and when i wanna wear them. but it was mainly for CNY last year.

bags. oh yea bags. hehe.

-my first deuter bag was bought since sec3, used it as a school bag. then the 2nd was bought in england just before my sis came back from her studies in 2007. so both bags have been with me for 4yr and 2 yrs + respectively.
-then its my sis' crumpler messanger bag. quite a nice size for sch use.
-my awesome crumpler 7 million dollar home for my camera and lenses and all the other rubbish inside.
-my lowepro rover AW II for my camera as well. i bought this bag mainly for travel which has certainly served me well for my england and hongkong trip last year. will be using it again in March for mission trip.
-nike sleeve for my laptop duhhh
-nike backpack for my poly use. its a good size cos i can fit my laptop inside it.

and yea, my Nike duffal bag was bought yesterday. i was in town for my dental appointment. but cos i was early so i just walked around paragon for a short while. and when i walked into Nike they were selling the bag at a 40% discounted price. so i bought it since i've been searching for one for quite sometime.

speaking of Nike. i've quite a few nike stuff. like nike bags, nike shoes, nike t-shirts, nike waterbottle. hahaha. and i've a gift voucher of $40 for royal sporting house, i'm just wondering if i should get more nike tshirts. haha actually RSH used to have those solid coloured nike tshirts going for $49 for 2. oh man, if the offer was still around i'll so get it, cos the usual price for 2 is $64! rahhh.

Hello 2010.

2010 seemed to have come too fast. i just hope and pray that this year, i'll pull up my socks and start getting work done. 2009 has been a rather slack year for me. i think its because of the 6 month break that i had before poly started.

but ahh well, 2009 had its good moments as well. i guess one think to be thankful for is to go travelling. as i step out of secondary school, i start to realised how fortunate i am to be able to just take a step out of singapore. some of my polymates have not even been out of singapore before, you try to describe them whats in an airplane and they give you a weird look. as such, i'm really thankful to have been given the air ticket in march to fly to england and my recent family holiday to Hongkong.

actually, even getting a place in NYP was also a gift from God. i told myself to whatever i do to not get into ITE or RP(due to the distance) and just nice, NYP gave me a place.

all i want is for 2010 to give me a wider smile 365 days from now.

i went cycling with gerald and tin tin today at ECP. well actually i was the one who asked them to cycle. i've always wanted to cycle to changi village for the fun of it.

so yes, we decided to cycle to changi village today. initially i wanted to just cycle to changi village then back to ECP. but the coastal way was just so boring. imagine this, we were cycling side by side with the airport run way, and the airport runway is like 5km long. so effectively, we were cycling about 6-7km of just straight road.. which was ubber sian!

so anyway, we cycled to changi village and it was raining, so we decided to sit down and eat something and thankfully the rain wasn't as heavy as before so we then went on with our journey. we decided not to go back by the airport way but instead, cover the whole Park Connector(PCN) which was another... 33km ++. well i was game for it, so was gerald, and tin tin is experienced so off we went!

well, to cut the long storey short. we spent a total of 4-5 hours to cover the whole PCN, which we calculated.. we cycled at an average speed of between 12km/h-15km/h which is relatively fast already. and btw, overtaking various cycling groups are so fun. haha. i think no group of cyclist actually managed to overtake the 3 of us, it was only individuals or those with the cool cool road bikes. haha.

okay so anyway. heres a photo taking in HK..

we arrived in HK at about 10.30am so we made our way to HK disneyland which was quite near the airport. this shot was taken just outside Disneyland. temperature that day was between 12-16degrees C so it was totally awesome!

merry merry christmas.

man i tell you, besides going for christmas service in church, it was a day or eating and eating. this reminds me of what monica and jess used to say to me.." haiyo ziteng ahh, eat and eat and eat and eat.." i think so to manzzzz.

my family went to this seafood buffet today at united square (just below starbucks) and i ate a hell lot. then in the evening, was dinner at my aunts house, which was also another round of eating.. like spaming food into my stomach like that.

and wth, i told myself that after HK trip i need to lose weight. its seriously impossible. i need liposuction please.. someone help meeeee

right okay, CTs have ended. it has really been a BLEAHHH week but i'm just glad its over. and besides, i'll be flying off to Hongkong tomorrow.. so that kinda comforts me.

so yes, my family and i would be taking a short break to Hongkong from the 19th to 23rd december. we'll be visiting Disneyland, Macau & Hongkong city itself. it's gonna rock! and i'll be back in singapore with a tokina 11-16 f/2.8 lens with other cool stuff :) haha

i probably saw the worst condition 50mm f/1.4 today. i met the seller at YCK mrt after my paper today. when i saw the box of the lens, i thought i was gonna be in for a treat.

but when the seller opened the box and took the lens out. OMG that was probably the worst condition lens i've ever came across. first off, it didn't have a filter but i was cool with that, but the lens elements for dirty! then, the lens cap was a non USM one which was like...(what the hell) and there were so many scratches on the lens. OH AND, it was OUT OF FOCUS OMGGGG. so i said," i'll kindly reject this lens, i'm sorry."

so yea, i'm still prime-less now. i think i'll get a tokina 11-16 f/2.8 in HK first then see what's next.

ahh well, CTs are a pain, seriously, i can't wait for it to be over i tell you.

and also, i needa start packing like nowwww cos i don't think i'll have time tomorrow to pack. alamak alamak alamak...

i've been deciding what gear to being to HK with me. cos i need space to put lenses in my bag. most probably i'll use ZX's 400D + grip and not my 40D cos its a little bulky. i'll be bringing along glori's tokina 12-24 f/4 and my tamron 17-50. and i'm hoping to get a tokina 11-16 & 50mm f/1.4 in HK and also a 17-50 OR a sigma 30mm f/1.4 for Benny.

this trip is gonna be exciting! :)

today was an excellent day. after 8am service at FMC i made my way to Bartley Church for their 10am service. service was great.. and also took the opp to pass the birthday girl her prezzie.

i want to thank Ming Hui for inviting me to the Awaken drama.

for those in FMC, you would know this Breakthough brother called Kelvin Soh, he has probably the most sexy voice among the brothers and also he's a singer as well. so yea, basically the drama that we spectated yesterday was a flashback of what he was like in his early years. they showed how he became a drug addict because of his father and how he started stealing from his grandmother. and all these things eventually landed him in jail together with his father.

and during his time in Jail. he was asked by his cellmate, ah hui, to join the christian fellowship there. but even after joining them, he still returned to his old ways, and because of that, he was sentenced to 5 years in jail with 3 strokes from the cane. and it was in his most down moments in his cell where he shouted to God," God! i'm wrong!" and it was those words that changed him and made him realise that he has been leading such a meaningless life.

for me personally, when i heard those 3 words. it just hit me that you know, in all our lifes we're just pleasing one another. we keep telling other people like us that we're sorry we're wrong. but have we ever came before the Lord and say," God, i'm wrong!" even if we had, have we ever cried our to the Lord saying," God, i'm wrong!"? i haven't. but that is gonna change.

man, i am so dreading the mid semester test. it just wastes 5 days of my meaningful life here on earth. i've been quited excited about my upcoming family trip to HK. thinking about the TIM SUM, the weather, DISNEYLAND, TIM SUM, the shopping, TIM SUM & of cos my camera equipment shopping just MIND BLOWING, or in russell peter's context, MIND BLASTING! hahaha

so yea, i was in math lecture today day dreaming and it suddenly hit me that i'll be leaving in 9 days time! OMGGGGGGG so EXCITING! i'm a little jealous though that some of my other friends are going Japan, thailand or korea.. all well, HK is cooooooool.

setting aside money for my Have-Fun-In-HONGKONG-Fund wasn't easy but i'm sure i'll be greatly blessed when i get to HK with the money to spend :D wheeeeeeee.

i shot a Kindergarten Concert yesterday with Jeremy Chan, who is my possible partner in crime if we start shooting such events more and more. it was a paid shoot and since we're shooting the children, i don't think i'll be posting pics from that.

but in any case, i shot KICK IT 09' for the Amdassadorial Team today again. it was an enjoyable time of shooting. 40D + 17-50 + 50mm f/1.4 + 100mm f/2.8 Macro is just an awesome combo together.

will be doing some shots tmr in church too as well. hmmmm.

school was just a waste of time today, i could have just stayed home and relax. ONGAC is one human who's quite hard to understand, he comes up with the weirdest ideas and when it comes to a mock test, he doesn't do or say anything. and our whole class was totally lost during the lab test. nice one la ONGAC.

ahh well, i'll be spending my next 3 or 4 nights in SA village. helping out at the Scripture Union camp aka SUPA camp. since sec2(i reemmber) i've always wanted to join the SU camp as a helper, and finally after a few years, i'm able to be. i've no idea why i wanted it so much since Ziteng and Kids don't really come well together, but i'll make the best of it :)

so before i leave, i'll post some pics taken at Child's Play, a NYP event which the Student Union and Ambassadorial Team put together. i've selected pics where the kids weren't in any part of the picture because of certain parental issues.

i technically didn't attend lesson in school today as i was invited by the A-Team to shoot their event, "Child's Play". and you'll have probably guessed that its an Acivity for kids. it was quite enjoyable shooting.
ahh well, i guess i'll be shooting kids the next few days during the SU camp :)

oh well, i'm sitting in coffee bean at ION now waiting for someone. i was at paragon just now and i was just looking at the crumpler bags. theres a new bad design from them. alright everybody, if you all don't know what to give Ziteng for christmas.. just remember 3 very simple words," CRUMPLER OLD BANGER" easy to remember right? good job. haha.

i just realised that this week has passed so so mega fast. sian, monday is coming, which means... french. OMG i feel like kicking my french tutor in the butt a few thousand times. terribly annoying.

ahh well, i feel to tired now. playing badminton for 2 days straight is kinda Imba. my legs are aching and my arms is gonna drop off soon.

right so anyway, on wednesday, i had a formal presentation for my Communication Skills module, we basically had to give a 2 minute presentation about ourselves to the class with the help of 1 powerpoint slide. so i was wondering, how hard can it be to do a 2 minute presentation in front of the whole class? i did a 20min one last sem and i scored an A for that. 2 minutes won't be anything compared to that.

so i had that whole mind set for that 2 weeks while everyone else was preparing their speech. some classmates of mine went to the extend of writing out a script and memorising it. but i didn't know all that. so on wednesday, when i went to school, i saw like half my class holding on to a script trying their best to memorise whatever they can. haha man, i started panicking, i was like," jialat, what if during my speech i don't know what to say? die la like that." cos honestly, i didn't really prepare my speech at all.

but i think God was gracious. after my whole class presented, i still got an A. wheeeee. okay i think all of you should realise that i'm not being arrogant here. this is my blog and i've the freedom to say what i want and express how i feel. getting an A is not something i get everyday, so as you can tell, me is happy!

so after our presentation, we did some camwhoring since i brought out my camera. more pics soooooon :)

while shooting a concert for a special needs school. it made me reflect how blessed i have been to have a normal childhood. having such disabilities would just give a child a really really hard Life ahead of him already. i wonder how their parents feel?

i really salute these kid's parents who show them so much love and support. raising normal kids like me is already so hard, what more a special needs child. i think the education and health care expenses of the child could just make the parents bankrupt in a short period of time, but these parents still decide to do their very best for their kids.

and i especially salute the teachers. patience and love sets in when dealing with these kids. if you have neither or just have one, you shouldn't be a special needs teacher. even as a photographer, its challenging to get the kids to sit down together and get a shot of them because they just can't stop moving. it also take quite precise accuracy just to snap that show when everyone is looking in the camera.

so at one point while i was kneeling down to take a few shots of the kids. this really cute and adorable boy came up to me, sat on my lap and gave me a kiss. haha so cute right? sadly i'm not allowed to post pics from the event.

its 6.30am and i'm already awake. noo its not because i'm so random i decide to wake up on an early saturday afternoon, but i've got a shoot later at 8am all the way at woodlands. to be honest i'm quite sian-ed to go all the way there now, but ahh well, i shall do it in the name of charity.

yes this shoot isn't a paid shoot, its a charity shoot that was given by Melvin Ho a few weeks back. and initially Zexun was supposed to be shooting with me, now its Jeremy Chan, who's also from clubsnap.

so yea, i'll just see how to day goes. oh and theres ACS BARKER CARNIVAL TOO!

so i woke up this morning feeling fine. i went down to eat breakfast, and right after breakfast i realised i had a stiff neck. how the heck is that possible? shouldn't i feel the stupid sensation like the minute i wake up?

bleah i'm weird. but the pain is killing me. so much so that i'm going with my sis tonight for a massage. so cool right? i know :D

righttt so anyway, i think i'll be having a busy weekend. i've got a shoot on saturday together with Mr Melvin Ho and zexun at woodlands, this' the very first time i'm doing an event shoot with fellow clubsnappers. then on sunday, i'll be helping a couple shoot a wedding FOC at kovan.

thankfully i'll be able to borrow some gear from Amos & Zexun. thanks guys.

i'm really looking forward to the year end. by then, i'll be able to have enough cash to do some upgrades, provided a get a tokina 12-24 f/4 and i'm quite set on getting it, unless my parents decide to help me a little then i can get a tokina 11-16 f/2.8 (which is what i would rather have).

also. since i'll be expanding my gear, my bag needs to expand too, so i'll be getting a Crumpler 7 million dollar home and selling the 6MDH (any buyers?) & if possible a 3 MDH as well. i was quite upset because apparently, 3 million dollar homes aren't sold in singapore crumpler stores.

i've been keeping a look out for the speedlite 580EXII external flash on clubsnap's B&S section for quite a while now. just this morning i saw a thread on clubsnap.. someone is selling his 580EXII for ONLY $450! and he was even willing to trade for a 430EXII plus top up.

k i admit i was a little greedy. i decided to ask the fella whether he was willing to trade plus my top up. i was really hoping the deal will come through. 450+ for a 580EXII is seriously damn awesome. people pay 500-650 for a 580EXII and if i can secure a deal for less than $500, wouldn't that be awesome?

how shall i start?

okay, i think my neighbours must really been wondering why has my dad been lately changing so many cars. because right, my dad has his own car, which is parked at home. then he drives the company van as well, so thats why the car has been parked at home. then recently, my uncle and aunty went to have a 2 weeks holiday in Eastern Europe so they left their nissan cefiro with my dad, so thats the 3rd vehicle.. then on friday, he's gonna change car with my cousin so he'll be driving another car home.

its feels kinda cool to be able to sit in so many different vehicles, but ultimately, i'll still be back to our MPV.

so anyway, i think i was quite loser-ish today. i was walked to my lecture hall from the foodcourt in school. YES WALKING, and i sprained my left knee. how smart can i actually get? so after driving today i went to J8 to get a Knee Guard. wahh feels better :)

sigh school's starting tomorrow, and i'm so not prepared for it. i don't understand why some people are so excited school's starting tomorrow..

k fine, i'm somehow excited too, but another side of me just wants another 7 weeks of holidays. think about it man, within 1 week i had 7 driving lessons, imagine if i were to have another 7 weeks of holidays, i just take another 10 lessons which means 2 driving lessons each week + my Final Theory + Practical Test. i won't need a stupid PDL anymore!

but nevermind, i've booked 2 lessons on thursday and friday this week, so its good.

but oh my goodness school starts tomorrow! and i already wanna box my french lecturer when i haven't even met her. its like on friday evening, she emailed me + the rest of the class saying," Bonjour! french class starts on monday, please buy your green colour textbook." wahh sehh, Bonjour your head la, its a little late to tell us to buy the book on a friday evening when the bookstore only opens on a monday.

i went to the doc today and doc told me i've some massive throat infection. oh well, so i guess my theory of Godzilla and a dinosaur fighting in my throat it right! bleah :S

i think this week has been a rather productive week out of all my other 6 weeks of holidays. in the course of this week i managed to spam 7 lessons of driving. 5 Manual and 1 Auto driving, and i completed 3 lessons last week, so effectively, i'm almost 50% done with my driving. the average number of lessons for a Manual student is between 20-25 lessons.. so, about 22 lessons la. for me, i'm aiming to complete everything within 20 lessons! i positively sure its possible. oh yes and i need to complete my Final Theory Test too. sighh :(

okay going back to my this week, i went prawning on tuesday too. OMG i so so so hate prawning, i think its seriously a nothing-better-to-do activity. like seriously, how can someone just stare at a stupid orange ball for like 2 hours straight and catch a few prawns? i seriously think its a waste of time and won't really wanna do it ever again, unless someone pays for me. hehe :D

okay so yes, i also went East Coast Park with the bartley gang on wednesday with hannah, chrysan, mh, james and mugen. it was pretty fun, everyone bladed, but i cycled. haha. honestly, i should have taken a photo of the difference chrysan/james/mh AND hannah bladed. hahaha. if i had bladed i'll be the last of the last, so yea, bad idea to blade.

well, so yess, i had a good week, i'm kinda looking forward to school starting, but with the presence of a classmate missing, it'll be rather sad. sigh.

my throat hurts really badly :( k fine, maybe i shouldn't have gone for badminton yesterday.

oh wells DRIVING! yes i had driving today, it was back to the Manual car. and i'm proud to say i didn't stall my car today! i think i'm one special kid. students are paying an extra few dollars just to get the same instructor to teach him/her. for me, i'm not even paying that extra few dollars and i've been getting the same driving instructor. how cool is that la. wells, at first i really disliked him because he was probably the most annoying person i have ever met, but now.. he's cool :) hahaha

and gerald and i got seriously owned by Billy Bombers. we went there hoping to make use of out $18 voucher. and after we ordered our food, we realise that this voucher was only applicable for normal dine-in dishes, we ordered a set meal. wahh damn suay i tell you, we paid for the lunch through our nose la :(

i had my ONE & ONLY Auto Car driving lesson today. man it was so coool. imagine not needing to worry about the stupid clutch and gears and just drive? wahh it was awesome. haha.

my instructor best la, he was sleeping during my lesson, which goes to show, i can drive without anyone in the car. hahaha. okok but its Auto la so its easy, i'm still afraid of Manual cars :(

i guess tomorrow will be pretty cool. i'll be driving up slope in the circuit! should be interesting. i tried it with the auto car today and it was fun. ohh, and i went through the narrow 'S' course today and i didn't hit any kerb! in fact, i haven't hit any kerb while driving yet. so i'm hoping to keep it that way till the day i die.

my day went pretty well today...

i had driving till 12.30 today then took a bus from TCK to east coast, it was a direct bus 13 there but OMG, it took one whole year to get there la! so yea i basically met the bartley gang at east coast today, they roller bladed but i decided to cycle.

you see right, apparently hannah knows how to blade, so at her know-how-to-blade pace, she's already pretty slow. if i were to blade, i'll be much much slower! and i would land on my ass alot alot of times too! so yea, i rather have myself on 2 wheeels!

so yea, cycling/blading was enjoyable, we didn't cover much distance but the fellowship was good :)

i'm hoping to grab a Auto Car driving lesson tomorrow, please please gimmi one!

apparently, when i got home, this was the only pic i found in the camera, i didn't take much shots today. but its okay.

man i find is so so strange. you know, last friday i had my first night driving lesson from 8.10 - 10.10pm. i drove car number 27 that night. and i really didn't enjoy myself that night cos i just felt the instructor was so annoying!

today when i got to the centre and looked up the screen, i saw my name and i had to use car 27 again *FAINTS*. in my mind i was seriously praying not to get the same instructor again.. i guess God felt otherwise and in the end, this very dude was my instructor again. sighh oh well, i made quite a number of mistakes. and it was raining really really heavily during my 10.30-12.30 slot today. wahh i scared, i didn't even dare drive faster than 50km/hr.

so 12.30 came and i went for my lunch. after lunch was my 2nd session and final session for the day. (yes i took 2 sessions today) i looked up the screen again and OMG, i was gonna drive car 27 again! wahh die die die, i thought to myself, "if i get back this instructor again, then GG..." hahaha AND this very dude was my instructor once again. oh man, why why why. haha. but i guess the 2nd session went pretty well, i tried my best not to stall the car, i only stalled once because i was reversing. so it went well i guess.

tomorrow i'll be doing another 2 sessions, one in the morning and the other in the evening. i'm hoping to clear my Stage 1 of my driving then i can quickly start Stage 2 then 3 then Final Theory then TEST then i'll be able to drive my dad's car!!!

few days back Jeremy Chan from CS msged me asking me to shoot for a Kindergarten Graduation as 2nd photographer. just today Justin Kon asked me to be a photographer for ACJC's prom night (tentaively). which is kinda cooool!

i am kind of in need of money here! :)

okay, i realise i'm someone who doesn't like staying out of home too long, as much as i like going out, i need my time at home too. sounds weird right? oh well. i think its strange too.

i've been one of the most kiasu learners for driving. i want my lessons so bad that i'm refreshing the SSDC page every 5 mins to check for available slots to drive. to show you how kiasu i am.. the original slot i'm supposed to resume my driving lessons is supposed to be on the 12th of november next month, but due to my constant refreshing of the page, i'm able to book an additional 5 lessons within this week and last. i had 2 lessons last week thursday and friday, and i'll be having another 3 this coming week on tuesday, wednesday and friday! i think it SHOULD BE enough for the hols. haha. well i was hoping to have had more lessons during my 7 week break. but its already good enough that i'm able to have about 6 lessons in total :)

after worship prac at FMC today i rushed down to Bartley Church for Chrysan's baptism. thankfully i reached in time and managed to find a seat.

after worship, sermon, testimony sharing, the baptism started. well, you'll probably be thinking maybe only a few people will get baptised. but nooo, a total of 64 people were getting baptised. my jaw dropped to the ground i tell you. but oh wells, i'm happy for chrysan! she and her brother are baptised! Congratulations Chrysan, from now on cannot be so mean anymore. hahaha

HAD DRIVING TODAY!

well i find it kinda cool, the first driving lesson i had, i was driving at night, then on my second lesson, which is today, i drove in the rain!

as i walked into the driving school, the sky was seriously overcast with dark dark clouds. i was thinking to myself,"that'll be cool, driving in the rain!" well yea, so as i got into the car, it started pouring! and i had the same instuctor as my previous lesson which was kinda good cos he remembered me! so yea, when the lesson began, he drove round the circuit once and reminded me about the half clutch and stuff.. then, it was my turn to drive!

when i was 20mins into my driving my car stalled cos i released the clutch too fast, then after that, my car could not be started! ahhhh cos the battery died, so i walked over to another car and wow, the 2nd car i drove felt goooood!

well, i guess after driving around the circuit a few times, it gets a little boring, so i decided to be a little thick skin and asked my instructor," can i drive on the main road, please please please?"

well, at the back of my mind i was expecting a No reply from him, but he just told me to continue driving.. because he told me on the first lesson that students can only start driving on the main road on the 4th lesson. so i made one another round round the circuit.. then just 20m before the gate he told me filter to the left lane, i was like," huh why???" and he went," drive outside la!" hahaha cool cool cool! so i, unlike other student, had a chance to drive out onto the road. another reason why he let me drive out was because he wanted to teach me to drive at gear 3.

i guess today's drivng session was much more enjoyable than the first. i was a little more confident and i could control the car way better. looking forward to the following lessons!

so anyway, after driving i went bowling with gerald and nic. it was great fun.. my pin falls were relatively OKAY. haha.

i decided to go onto the SSDC webbie today to cancel and rebook my driving lessons for the month of nov/dec and guess what? i found a slot tomorrow where i can drive! i am H-A-P-P-Y!

today seemed much more productive as compared to yesterday. i went swimming and ate alot of junk food in the afternoon. and i think i'm still hungry now. i wonder why i keep getting hungry.. hmmm
